VICTOR BROGNA

North End/West End

Victor volunteers with the ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center as the community point of contact, attending advisory board meetings and playing trumpet at holiday celebrations prior to COVID. Initially, he was a client of the center, attending Friday afternoon lunches for seniors. He greatly enjoys the social component of holiday lunches for Valentine’s Day, Saint Patrick’s Day, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Victor is immersed in community affairs, testifying at Boston City Council and other public meetings, writing letters to city and state agencies on proposed projects, dealing with duties as chair of the Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee of the North End Waterfront Residents Association and playing the trumpet.

He encourages others to volunteer, citing the importance of each person doing, “a little something to make the lives of our neighbors more pleasant. In return, the emotional rewards are such that we receive back more than we give,” he said.
