As chair of the Greater Mattapan Neighborhood Council, Fatima believes in developing strong relationships with organizations like ABCD, strengthening community ties through collaboration and the importance of referrals.

 

She is a software engineer by trade and an explorer hobbyist, traveling Boston to experience the city from a pedestrian standpoint. Her explorations have allowed her to witness community members being assisted with various needs – finances, utilities and teen employment via the ABCD Mattapan Family Service Center near her home. 

 

The right information through referrals can make all the difference for people in need. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fatima was able to connect a family to ABCD for fuel assistance and other services upon hearing that they had been misinformed about where to turn in a crisis.

 

Fatima is honored to be named an ABCD Community Hero and encourages others to find ways to volunteer or collaborate with ABCD through shared goals and programming.
