Aileen Gorman

Aileen Gorman is a Charlestown native and still lives there today with her four children. “Volunteerism began for me at a young age – my mother worked at the community center and my grandmother Ruthie used to help out at St. Catherine of Siena School,” she said. “I always saw giving back.”
As a volunteer, she helps with fundraisers and events like the JFK Center’s Thanksgiving Turkey Drive and the Charlestown Mother’s Day Brunch for seniors. She describes the best part of her volunteer experience as, “pulling people together and making the connections,” she said.
Aileen said she feels “humbled to be recognized as an ABCD Community Hero and is super grateful for the little mark that I am trying to make in the world.”
She encourages others to give back. “Just to see the amazing work that
JFK does, it’s hard not to want to be involved. I want to carry the mission of ‘we take
care of each other in Charlestown’.”
Away from JFK, Aileen spends time with her children, Hailey, Neeve, Paige and Jack, and helped to establish All Roads Lead to Charlestown – a nonprofit established to revive the Charlestown community and small businesses after the COVID isolation.
