Parker Hill/Fenway
As senior associate director of employer engagement at Emmanuel College, Chelsea Rose-Dunham has partnered with ABCD for eight years — connecting college students with ABCD volunteer opportunities, internships and full-time positions. Three years ago, ABCD’s Parker Hill/Fenway Neighborhood Opportunity Center became a host site for the Emmanuel College Professional Pathways Program that provides summer housing and a stipend for interns at community organizations like ABCD. “Working in the community helps students define their career path, while serving those most in need,” said Chelsea.
An Emmanuel colleague introduced Chelsea to ABCD. “I was inspired to continue building and strengthening the partnership between ABCD and the college. A member of our leadership team has even joined the Parker Hill/Fenway advisory board.”
In her new role at Westfield State University, Chelsea hopes to continue to support student and community engagement.
“It is an incredible honor to be named a Community Hero alongside so many others who are doing such impactful work,” said Chelsea. “I absolutely encourage others to volunteer or work with ABCD at least once, either in a program or at a special event. It’s always a meaningful experience.“
Chelsea recently relocated from Roxbury to Northampton, and spends free time with her wife, Dani, and their rescue dog, Maddy.
